Its finally here! All of this preparation and anticipation has paid off and I am here moved in, friendships are growing, God is moving, and I am able to say I am fully funded! I want to break down arrival day and made sub blogs that are more in depth for people that really want to know what it has been like here and for people who may be interested in doing YWAM as well! I flew in on September 26th with my dad 3 days before arrival day. During that time my dad had gotten an Airbnb and a rental car, so we were able to run some errands in preparation for arrival day and I was able to explore the island a bit. The morning on arrival day which was the 29th I was excited, but I did have some anxiety creeping in which I have shared a bit about my journey with anxiety in a past blog. My dad had come with me and when we were walking to the Ohana court where check in was I was fighting hard to not have an anxiety attack. We made it to the check in table where I was able to get myself under control where we then had to go to the health check tent. We walked down there, and I was greeted by more of my DTS staff which brought more continued comfort in the nervousness. We sat waiting to get cleared for a bit and when they cleared me, I went back into the check in table where I finished out my check in and went to get my room key. Once I got my room key, I headed up to my dorm where there were 5 bunk beds so 10 girls in my room, one bathroom with a shower and two toilets and two sinks and then a shared living space with a patio where we were connected to another room with another 10 girls. I was the first girl on my side, so I started unpacking a bit before some of the other girls started arriving. Once some of us arrived and claimed our bed we decided to go grab some food in town and explore the little market area by us called coconut grove. We headed back to the dorms and met more of the girls and after most people were settled in a bit a bunch of us decided to go down to the beach after sunset. Although I went into the day fighting my anxiety, I ended the day running into the ocean with a bunch of girls I had just met that day and had already felt so close with. I feel like with this is really goes to show how the enemy tries to tear you down when you're going into something that has the potential to bring you closer to Christ because he doesn't want you to become stronger in your faith. Just in this one day I got so much excitement to see what God had planned in this time because he brought me comfort in friendship. This was also so good to me because it goes to show that God is so intentional with the people that he places in your life when you most need it. This was about it for arrival day I just wanted to share a bit about how it was for me for you guys to get a deeper look that.
