Choosing my DTS

At YWAM they have different schools you can choose from that you feel best suit you and your goals and passions. These are called DTS which stands for discipleship training school. While I was looking at all of the different schools, I felt torn between two different ones which are fire and fragrance and awaken DTS. Fire and fragrances tagline is "Permission to wildly follow Jesus with all your heart". I felt connected to this because I truly do just love Jesus so much and it is centered around just fulling leaning into that. When I applied to YWAM fire and fragrance was actually the school that I chose and got accepted into. The other school that I felt drawn to was awaken which their tagline is "Inviting all people into the reality of the Kingdom". Although both of these schools I felt torn between, and I decided fire and fragrance I for the month of beginning planning could not get awaken DTS off my mind and I began to think that I chose the wrong program. So, after lots of prayer and consideration I actually decided to switch my DTS. I now feel completely content and have no doubt in my final decision for my DTS. Awaken is strongly focused on finding your identity and bringing everyone together no matter how broken or hurt you may be. In today's day and age, I feel like identity and hurt is more of an issue and struggle than ever! I feel so strongly about wanting everyone to experience Gods love and joy that I was so desperately looking for while going through my own identity battle. It says on the awaken description "What would it look like if a generation of divided, broken, and hurt people came together and laid their lives down for each other just as Jesus did for us? What if we valued one another just as Jesus valued us? What if each other’s dreams became our own dreams? We think the world would then know who Jesus is, Together, let’s love Him radically. Together, let’s dream one another’s dreams. Together, let’s love the nations." (YWAM Kona). I am so excited to have chosen a DTS that is so strongly focused on loving one another and helping others be made whole through Jesus!
